Introduction to Creative Arts Therapies Workshop
This workshop is run by Melanie Kilo, registered creative arts therapist and accredited mental health social worker.
Participants will attend the 6.5 hour Introduction to Creative Arts Therapies workshop, which will involve the following:
Experiential art therapy techniques to engage with a variety of clients, especially children and young people.
Learning art therapy strategies as part of a calming and regulation toolbox.
As a result the participants will be able to:
Use art therapy methods for engagement, resilience, and calming.
Build an art therapy toolbox for regulation and calming.
Experience their own personal growth through the processes.
Suitable for therapists, social workers, psychologists, allied health professionals, welfare and disability workers, and teachers.

Accidental Counselling
Aimed at people who experience clientele and customers in distress or experiencing a crisis, and would like to have skills in recognising the signs of distress, responding to the person effectively, and be able to refer them to appropriate supports.
Please be aware that this workshop is not intended to train participants to be a counsellor.
Participants will attend the 2 hour Accidental Counselling Workshop, which will involve the following:
Recognise distress and crisis
Respond effectively and compassionately
Refer to appropriate supports
Boundaries and keeping yourself safe
De-briefing and reflective practice
Aftercare - Self-care and wellbeing
As a result, the participants will:
Have basic skills to support someone in distress, and be able to refer them to an appropriate service.
Learn how to put boundaries in around the person in distress to keep themselves safe
Be able to take care of themselves after the encounter in order to avoid vicarious trauma.
Recommended for workers in any industry, but especially finance services, retail (eg florists and pet supplies), beauty and hair services, and hospitality and bar workers. Also suitable for administration and finance workers for organisations whose clientele might be often in crisis, and they are the first line of contact for the organisation.

Self-Care for Professionals
This workshop is for any professional in the workplace, and runs for 90 minutes. The workshop is adapted to the needs of the organisation, and incorporates mindfulness techniques, discovering what is self-care, and building your own self-care plan/tool-box. By building these skills in employees, we are investing in their capacity to be more mindful and reflective, and supporting them to care for themselves as well as others in a more resilient fashion.
Participants will attend the 90-minute Self-Care Workshop which will involve the following:
Experiencing mindfulness.
What is self-care, and why is it important.
Self-care planning.
As a result, the participants will:
Learn about mindfulness and its benefits.
Experience mindfulness.
Build a self-care toolbox for regulation and calming.
Suitable for therapists, social workers, psychologists, allied health professionals, welfare and disability workers, and teachers. This will be run from the Phoenix office in March 2025, and we are also taking expressions of interest for it to be run in your business/organisations.

Therapeutic Art Connection Workshop
This workshop is for professionals working with children and young people, and runs for 180 minutes. Therapeutic Art Connection is an experiential learning experience, and involves using art therapy techniques to build connection and resilience in children and young people, and to build an art therapy tool box for regulation and calming strategies. By building these skills in professionals to support their work with children and young people, we are investing in their future communication skills, regulation skills, and in their ability to “bounce back” from difficulties.
Participants will attend the 180-minute Therapeutic Art Connection workshop which will involve the following:
Discussion as to the meaning of connection and resilience
Experiential art therapy techniques to engage with children and young people
Practicing resilience strategies in an initiatic art therapy context
Using art therapy techniques as part of a calming and regulation toolbox
As a result the participants will:
Have greater knowledge about attachment dysfunction, trauma, connection and resilience.
Experience art therapy techniques for engagement, resilience, and calming.
Build an art therapy toolbox for regulation and calming.
